Fast Kenyans

Over recent years, there has been a lot of discussion about why Kenyans are fast -- they train at high altitude, they grow up running to school, their diet, they work hard, high motivation, unique genetics. Who knows? I suspect it has as much to do with hard work as anything else.

This video clip doesn't answer the question of why but is entertaining:

Run well, y'all -- like a Kenyan,
Bob

I know the Brooks-Hanson Team here in Michigan is really trying to take on the Kenyans. Not there yet though they did get one of their runners on the Olympic marathon team (Brian Sell) for the first time). There are other teams in the US also getting progressively stronger. It'll be interesting in a few years to see if the US runners can challenge the Kenyan supremacy. Right now, the Kenyans are Team USA basketball circa 1992. However, perhaps by around 2020 they'll only be Team USA basketball circa 2006 if you get my analogy.

Nice workout the other day. Strong tempo run.
